The centre of the plate shows Venus emerging from the waves with Neptune and Putti in attendance, the cobalt blue rim finely painted with detail gilded shell pattern, the back of the plate titled “The Birth of Venus” after Boucher.
Meissen blue crossed swords to back of plate.
