The Meissen porcelain figure of a maid serving a drink of hot chocolate on a tray was based on a painting by the Swiss painter Etienne Liotard. The painting is now hanging in the Gemaeldegallerie Alte Meister in Dresden. The Meissen Chocolate Girl figure has become a favourite amongst collectors of Meissen figurines.
