This Cupid is from a charming series of Putti/Cupids with mottos in French, The French language being the language of the Court. The inscriptions read as to the subject’s action. This cupid/putti has the inscription: Un me suffit (one is enough), with one heart being discarded by the putti to show that one love (one heart) is enough.
