Item No. 9940: Two Meissen Porcelain Freemason Figures Of A Male And Female, ca. 1880-1900

The two collectable masonic Meissen figures are standing on a pedestal with the male holding a scroll in his right hand, wearing freemason attire with apron, a pug sitting on column behind, the female holding a pug as well as a pug sitting to her feet. A Pug was the a sign that ladies belonged to the secret female Freemasons, as they were not allowed to join openly the male Freemasons. Both figures standing on rectangular bases.
Meissen crossed swords to base.
