The Jacob Petit chocolate cup, saucer and lid highly decorated with applied flowers and gilded scroll work, two gilded handles to cup, the cup and saucer marked to base with under glaze JP. Jacob Petit (born 1796 - 1868) joined the Sevres manufacture as a painter and opened his own porcelain factory in Fontainebleau and later moved to Paris. His pieces were mainly ornamental and the his revival rococo style was in demand at that time.
